John Sheley, President, Sheley Benefits, LLC
John Sheley is the president and founder of Sheley Benefits, LLC. He has been a Dallas employee benefits broker for over 30 years. His specialty is to help navigate the complicated world of group health insurance in Dallas and throughout Texas for his clients. He is a full service Dallas employee benefits broker. In addition to group health insurance, he is also a broker for group dental coverage, group long-term disability coverage and group long-term care coverage. With his vast experience as an employee benefits broker, he offers his clients guidance on all aspects of employee benefits.
Prior to founding Sheley Benefits, LLC, he served as Chief Financial Officer for The Landmark Group, a regional securities broker/dealer. John began his career at the accounting firm of Coopers and Lybrand specializing in audit, tax and financial consulting. He is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a BBA in Accounting. John also obtained a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation after graduation. He brings this an analytical approach to the world of employee benefits.

- Full plan implementation: This includes getting quotes from all the major insurance companies and preparing a spreadsheet of the best quotes to review with you. We also prepare summary sheets for the chosen plan to distribute to the employees during the enrollment process and conduct employee meetings as needed. We handle all the details to ensure that your group is approved and implemented in a timely manner.
- Employee additions and terminations: Throughout the year as you add or terminate employees, we take care of handling this for you directly with the insurance company.
- Claims issues: If claims issues arise, we are there to directly intervene between you and the insurance company. We speak their language and know how to get things done.
- Annual Renewal: At your renewal each years we look at other possible options to ensure that you are receiving the best employee benefits at the very best rates. We will also prepare summary information for your employees during the Open Enrollment Period so they can make any changes to their plan.
